Light Leak

Light getting into the camera where it shouldn’t – through a worn seal, or a back opened a moment too soon. It fogs the film as a colored veil or a burn creeping in from an edge. A small one can make a digital photo feel like it spent time in a real camera.

The pills pick the kind of leak – Edge, Corner, Streaks, Burn, Double Burn, Veil – and the swatches its color. Intensity is how much light got in, Size how far it spreads, and Position moves it along the edge; on Double Burn, Spread sets the width of the band.

New Variation rolls a fresh leak with the same settings. The leak exposes the film itself, so each stock develops it differently and black and white film turns it grey. Grain runs through it, Halation and Diffusion spread it, and a frame’s border catches the same light.
