Halation

The warm red-orange glow motion picture film throws around bright lights and edges – streetlights, windows, backlit hair, anything bright against dark. A little goes a long way toward making a photo feel shot on film.

Halation sets how strong the glow is. Raise Halo Threshold to let softer highlights glow too, or keep it low so only the brightest points do. Halo Size runs from a tight fringe to a soft flare.

On HDR photos, HDR Amount lets a real light source glow harder than a white wall.

The glow stays warm even when you change white balance, because on film it comes from the red-sensitive layer.
