Diffusion

Simulates the softening and glow effects of a diffusion or mist filter.

Mist softens the entire image, not just the highlights. Diffusion sets the strength, Size the scale and Warmth the tint. Character sets how far the light travels: tight keeps the glow close to what’s bright, wide carries it across the frame.

Bloom diffuses only the highlights – useful for softening around light sources and bright skies. Threshold sets how bright something has to be before it blooms, and Bloom Size how far the glow spreads.

Bloom Color keeps the light’s own color in its glow. You’ll see it on colored light – a neon sign, a sunset – and not on white, which has no color to keep.

On HDR photos HDR also diffuses super whites – use lightly, it can easily overwhelm the image.
