HSL
Change one color at a time. Pick a swatch, or the rainbow dot for all of them at once.
Hue slides the color along the wheel – a blue toward cyan or toward purple. Saturation makes it more or less vivid, Luminance brighter or darker. Density darkens a color as it saturates, the way dye does, for a deeper red rather than a brighter one.
The bands are wide and blend into each other to avoid banding, but it can still show, especially on 8-bit files. Protect Whites eases the effect off toward the highlights and usually fixes it.
Not sure which band a color belongs to? Pull that band’s Saturation all the way down and watch what turns grey. HSL is off for black and white stocks.
